Sarah Asher Tua Geronimo was born to parents Delfin and Divina. The third of four children, Sarah grew up in a rented house in Sta. Cruz, Manila.

To say that Sarah possesses a natural love to perform is an understatement. As a child, she actively participated in school programs and joined many singing contests throughout her childhood. At age three, she was casted in the kiddie show "Pen pen de Sarapen." She also take part in "For Kids Only" and "Hiraya Manawari." She became part of the first batch of stars in the hit kiddie afternoon program "Ang TV." Yet it was Sarah's talent for singing that would cause her father to focus on developing it by enrolling her at the "Center for Pop Music, Philippines" at six years of age. Her father also encouraged little Sarah to train at home for two hours each day.
